The challenge with this project was creating a cohesive look across chapters that spanned different decades of varied media. A different colour was chosen for each chapter which was used as an accent throughout and also used as a tint for black and white photos and the backgrounds of newspaper articles.
Grid-based accent areas were pulled from the main photos and tinted, adding extra visual interest.
The book contains 125 pages of interviews with union members and spans decades of the union chapter’s history, along with archival photos and newspaper clippings from the time.
